Robert W. Good

Attorney at Law

Robert (Bob) Good has practiced law for over 30 years, serving the Rogue Valley and beyond Oregon. Originally from Pennsylvania, Bob graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia and taught high school for eight years before entering the legal profession. In 1992, Bob graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington, and began practicing law in Ashland with the Howser & Munsell Law Firm. For more than 25 years, Bob has operated his own law firm, focusing on estate planning, estate administration, business law, family law, and mediation.

Bob fosters community connections through active involvement. A dedicated member of the Ashland Rotary since 2000, Bob has held leadership roles as both a director and president of the Ashland Rotary Foundation. On weekends between March and November, Bob is often found at the Rotary garden, riding a tractor, tilling the soil, planting, irrigating, and delivering the donated harvest to the Ashland Community Food Bank. Bob’s service extends beyond Rotary, having spent 10 years on the Board of Directors for Family Solutions (formerly Southern Oregon Child Study and Treatment Center). He also enjoyed coaching various youth sports and spent more than a decade mentoring the Ashland High School Mock Trial Team. In his free time, Bob keeps himself young by hitting the basketball court twice a week and chasing the Dodgers. Bob cherishes time together with his wife, their four children, and four grandchildren and visiting his extended family in Pennsylvania.

Jo Hanna B. Dorris

Paralegal and Advocate

Jo Hanna Dorris has been a valued member of our firm since 2021. As a paralegal, Jo works closely with Robert Good and his clients. Originally from Alaska, Jo began her career as a paralegal in Southern Oregon in 2002. However, her passion for photography led her to establish and successfully run her own photography business, which took her around the world for over 20 years.

Jo's return to the legal field was rekindled in 2020, after meeting Robert Good. As a parent and active community member, Jo is inspired by contribution, integrity, and partnering with others who share her values. As a paralegal and client advocate, Jo delivers compassion and dedication to Robert Good's law firm as she supports clients with everything from completing legal minutia to walking through life transitions.

Specializing in probate, estate planning, and gender reassignment, Jo is committed to expanding her legal knowledge to optimize service to clients' legal needs. When Jo is not working, volunteering for the Ashland School District, or rallying the sidelines at team sports, she can be found snowboarding on Mt. Ashland or surfing at the coast with her teen daughter and their rescue dog, Bear.

Bear D. Dog

Squirrel Defense Coordinator and Security Co-Advisor

Bear joined the firm in 2022 and quickly became a beloved member of the office. His life began after Helotes Humane Society rescued his emaciated mother off the streets in San Antonio amidst an estimated 35,000 other stray dogs roaming in that area. As a young pup Bear was terrified of many things: big hats, tall men, tin foil, leaves falling, car headlights, paper crumpling, insects. Bear’s largest terror was the white dog that lived in the stove (Bear’s reflection). While Bear still struggles with tall men with large hats, Bear thrives with family and has overcome many of his early traumas.

Believed to be a Labrador-Anatolian Shepard mix, Bear blends the friendly spirit of a Lab with the emotional depth of an Anatolian Shepard. Bear is a sensitive, gentle soul. In his years at the office, Bear proudly maintains a 100% success rate of cruelty-free squirrel deterrence.

Bear excels at singing. He invites clients to bring a harmonica so that he can harmonize with his soulful vocals. Bear envisions his next gig as the lead howler in a traveling blues band.

Rosie G. Dog

Chief Treat Inspector and Security Co-Advisor

Rosie is a Jackson County Shelter graduate who joined the firm in 2019. She specializes in treat detection, dodging deer, and enforcing social boundaries. In her former life, Rosie spent an estimated 4 years as an overbred mama with limited access to toys or a positive team environment. She has since embraced her English Springer Spaniel heritage and is now a master squeaky surgeon and outfield fly-ball catcher. Rosie is a loyal, yet cautious staff member who selects her own interactions and excels in energetic discernment. She is drawn to gentle souls and especially shines with young children.

Rosie exemplifies resilience, second chances, and the healing power of love and stability. Her presence is a reminder that pets count on people to protect their well-being. Besides eating treats, Rosie’s mission is to ensure that all pets receive the care and attention they need, regardless of life stage or circumstance.

Don’t forget to include your pets in the estate planning process!
